Which famous people of today, do you think will still be remembered in 500 years?

Neil Armstrong is probably my top runner.

That's a very long time, it's impossible to be sure of anything.

Depends what 'remembered' means ? People may be able to download Terry Pratchett or J.K Rowling at that date, but being big names in history ? not quite Shakespeare.

Bill Gates, Craig Venter, Richard Dawkins, Elon Musk, Michael Jordan, Paul McCartney... no clue.

Many important people will likely also be forgotten.

Obama. Whether you like him or hate him, it's hard to argue that he won't be remembered, even if it's for nothing more than being the first black president.

      Any of the presidents really.

        C-C-C-Combo Breaker!

Even if what Obama did in office wasn't all that much of note, he really changed things up when it came to the idea of race in the white house.

Arnold Schwarzenegger. The man made cool movies and had an impact on body building. And don't think this counts since the person has been dead a while now but I'm guessing Bruce Lee's popularity will continue.

Do you remember any movie stars from 1515? I thought so.

    Harold from Neighbours. >.<

I have no idea, I hope people like Trent Reznor and Tina Fey are. Bukowski (rip) should be and most likely will still be read then. Neil degrasse Tyson, David Attenborough are likely candidates too. I hope people get to experience those voices... Hawking definitely. I think with people being more active online and leaving more traces behind will make it a lot easier for those in the future to find what entertained us in the past.

    Neil Armstrong

    Maybe Yuri Gagarin too, then.
