Speaking of board games, have you ever played the Game of Thrones one? I picked it up like two years ago and tried playing it with a few friends. It definitely is intense and has a large learning curve, but it was a LOT of fun.
Yea I own it! I enjoyed it and have played it a few times, but I think I have some issues with it. Maybe it's just how my friends plays but it always seems like near one of the later turns someone decides to go full out yolo on a quest to get enough castles, and usually succeeds. It always feels like the game ends very suddenly, and I'm not sure whether or not I like that.
