Write a Haiku (short poem) about something in your life

Haiku Structure:

There are no specific rules for writing haiku; however, the structure of haiku is always the same, including the following features:

  • Only three lines, totaling 17 syllables throughout

  • The first line is only 5 syllables

  • The second line is 7 syllables

  • The third line is 5 syllables like the first

  • Punctuation and capitalization rules are up to the poet, and need not follow rigid rules used in structuring sentences

  • Haiku does not have to rhyme, in fact many times it does not rhyme at all

  • Some haiku can include the repetition of words or sounds

I found out sunburns can be serious when I got second degree burns over the 4th of July.

Also, never put any kind of adhesive on burns even if they are bandages; when you take them off you will also take off the skin...

You've never been too tired to sleep?? Lucky you! I Googled too tired to sleep and got 28.5 million results. It's a symptom of insomnia, and it's a common enough experience that even Yahoo refers to it in headlines.

Heavens, I go through this almost every semester. I've stayed up for days working on projects and/or studying for exams, and when I finally get a chance to sleep, I have a hard time doing so because the tiredness develops into a sort of lingering discomfort, and all I can do is lie in bed until I'm so depleted that I'm "forced" to fall asleep. 3/10, would not recommend.

    Haiku's are easy,

But sometimes they don't make sense.
