One quarter of Canadians believe online conspiracy theories, expert says
A quarter of Canadians believe in online conspiracy theories, an expert on radicalization and terrorism told a parliamentary committee Thursday. David Morin, a professor at the Université de Sherbrooke, said a poll conducted for an upcoming report he is preparing for the Quebec government found that 9 to 10 per cent of Canadians strongly believe in conspiracy theories, while another 15 per cent moderately believe them.

Facebook could block news in Canada over revenue-sharing bill, exec says
Facebook hasn’t ruled out blocking news on its platform in Canada over the Liberal government’s news revenue-sharing bill, a company executive told MPs Tuesday. Rachel Curran, the public policy manager for Canada at Meta, Facebook’s parent company, was asked at a parliamentary committee whether the company could repeat what it did in Australia last year in response to similar legislation, when it temporarily prohibited news content on Facebook.

Canadiens icon Guy Lafleur, one of hockey's flashiest players, dead at 70
Montreal Canadiens icon Guy Lafleur, who captured five Stanley Cup titles and was a hockey hero in Quebec long before his NHL playing days, has died. He was 70. The cause of death was not immediately known. However, Lafleur suffered through health issues in the latter stages of his life. In September 2019, he underwent quadruple bypass heart surgery, which was followed by lung surgery two months later.
