That. Is. Insane. Holy crap that's a lot of potential new users. Man, I didn't think I'd see Reddit 180 itself like that

It really came out of the blue. I did not expect reddit to just go on this huge downward spiral so fast. The subreddit that is for reddit alternatives has 3000 people on it right now. That is insane.

I'm one of those users who doesn't care about the drama. The FPH drama annoyed me, but it didn't linger too long. I have no opinion per se on reddit's CEO, although I find distasteful how she gets targeted for her race and gender.

That being said, the subreddits going black really worries me. I see it as a company who isn't supporting its mods enough. I see it as utterly amateur. And it reminds me of how much I'm tired of drama constantly interfering with my reading enjoyment.

I'm as surprised as you are that reddit is imploding right now. But I can see the writing on the wall. One look at this site's slick interface and ultra-friendly and respectful community, and that was it for me!

I didn't care for the drama much either, but the site has become so inundated with it that now I only use reddit for smaller niche subs that Snapzu isn't really big enough to have yet. I really, really, like Snapzu. It's community is great. The layout is great. The interface is great. The site actually encourages you to actually participate.

I really didn't care about the specifics of any drama - I just cared about how much drama was there. It seems like there was just something going on every single day that was making the entire userbase upset. Since I was on there all the time, it just really got to me. I started looking elsewhere to find a calmer place; somewhere without incessant shouting and crying, a place that just wanted to talk.

Yes! That's exactly my experience as well. I come to Snapzu and I just feel... calm. :)

Same here...This site is really working hard at keeping out the trolls and it's appreciated by the members.

I was thinking about this the other day. I assumed Reddit would be going strong for at least 20+ years and I couldn't imagine what possibly could lead it to its downfall. Never imagined this would happen, especially this soon.
