The theme from Eastbound and Down, Going Down by Freddie King - funky as fuck! I feel weird listening to what I discovered as a theme tune as just a regular song but I don't care. It's far too awesome.
True Detective, Season 1 comes to mind. Also, the Season 2 titles as well. Just captures the entire essence of what True Detective is going for. The songs aren't original, but they allowed me to discover some awesome artists.
Fun fact, the guy behind these two main titles, also is behind the Daredevil one that /u/grandsalami pointed out. And, their studio, Elastic, also created the Game of Thrones main titles. Their entire body of work is very impressive!

Bear McCreary's theme for Black Sails is simply amazing. The threadbare hurdy gurdy, the the hammered piano, distorted guitar and sea shanty chanting comes together in a piece that'll make you feel like KICKING SOME FUCKING ASS!
Black Sails is an incredible drama about high seas piracy, you should check it out. If you liked Spartacus, you'll like Black Sails.

Oh man there's so many game openings that fall into this category. Any of the Zelda games (particularly Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past), Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Pokemon, Final Fantasy...makes me want to go back and play all of them. Breath of Fire II was probably one of my favorites.
For purely nostalgic reasons? The Thundercats and Scooby-Doo were always some of my favorites.

Fringe themes are pretty great. I love how the changed it slightly for each series.
Angel I also love the Angel theme. It fits the show so well and really adds to the atmosphere. Angel doesn't get enough love.
