What is your favorite place on Earth?

Could be your room in the house or some exotic town or remote beach. For me it's gotta be a narrow beach in the the northern section of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. It's my perfect sanctuary. : )

I have a camping spot my immediate family and I have been coming to for years, ever since I was about 6 years old. It's a secluded spot with a beautiful view, and a fresh water stream that has a spot where the water gathers and warms in the summer making it just warm enough for swimming but cold enough to be a very refreshing experience. Sightings of deer and other wild animals are not uncommon and always exhilarating. We would go twice every summer for about 5 days at a time. My first family dog would jump into the stream after me and we would play water catch and chase fish. An absolutely hair raising experience just to think about all the good times we had there. We still go every now and then but my parents are getting older and they just don't have the youthful energy they once had. Just thinking about going there gives me goosebumps, it is my favorite place in the world and I miss it terribly when I don't go there at least once a year.

That was deep! Sounds like a lot of nostalgia as well.

Yeah, a lot of it is nostalgia. Just going there brings back a lot of great memories.

Probably the area around Pigeon Forge, TN is probably my favorite place on earth. Elevated a bit, so the oppressive heat of the summer isn't quite so bad. Feet dipped in a chill mountain stream that flows down. Probably with a nice beverage in hand, enjoying the breeze. Beautiful country.

I'm originally from the coast, so mountains always seem so freaking crazy to me, no matter how many times I see them in real life.

It's hard to say. I love Colorado and making the hike up to Emerald Lake near Estes Park is always worth the view. However I'm also extremely fond of Australia and wouldn't mind moving back there. I also have many fond memories of fishing vacations on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands between the US and Canada.

My hometown. Lots of memories and always nice to go back every so often and see how things are going.

Never been there, but it's definitely a place I need to visit sometime soon.

Phuket, Thailand. So, so, so beautiful!

Did you visit recently? How has it recovered from the catastrophic tidal wave of 2004?

Funny story (not really funny, but interesting) I have only been there once and I got to Thailand on the day the tsunami hit! Couldn't cut my trip short so went on ahead to Phuket! I couldn't really swim or enjoy the beaches, or even go to some of the most popular ones, but it was still the most beautiful place I had ever been, and remains to this day!

Glad you're OK. A lot of people lost their lives on that day.
