I really don't understand most paintings so I can't really say. I went to the MET several months ago and walked through an exhibit that had a lot of Picasso and other stuff and I just had no appreciation for it whatsoever. I don't get how things are chosen to be "good." I thought it was all boring, bad, and uninteresting. I often see "amateur" paintings that are interesting, but a lot of the hoity toity types of work I don't get at all.
This is literally both the name of the painting and exactly what it represents. Just take a minute to imagine Dalí standing there, with six mirrors, painting himself and his wife, while looking at a mirror. If you ever visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Spain, you can see an hologram of Dalí doing this painting. In all honesty, that museum is worth the plane ticket in itself. This is an amazing artist.

If I had seen this yesterday, I wouldnt of had an answer. Now, I can say without a doubt it's the top image from this album.
These are awesome.
Honestly, I'm fond of my own work.
Wow, Van Gogh's Starry Night looks amazing there.
I'm going to assume you mean traditional paintings rather than anything in the digital age, so...
"View of Toledo" by El Greco
I have a print of it on my wall. Never really understood why it caught my eye, but it did.
New York Movie I honestly love anything by Hopper, though.

Dalí Seen from the Back Painting Gala from the Back Eternalized by Six Virtual Corneas Provisionally Reflected by Six Real Mirrors/1972-73.

Most pictures by Edward Burne-Jones. Or Wassily Kandinsky. I could live with either, if I could get them into my house.
Wander Above the Sea of Fog. It's inspiring and at the same time evokes feelings of uncertainty really well.
Tough decision. I've found that seeing a painting in person is invaluable.
My pick...today.
Salvador Dali - Hallucinogenic Toreador
Can't pick one in particular. Am tempted to say something Hieronymus Bosch, but got a soft spot for Monet.
I believe it's called Saturn Devouring his Son. Creepy stuff, especially with the eyes.
One of the major works of Francisco Goya, you got the title right (or rather the official translation of it). Wikipedia article. Direct link to an image of the painting.
