Look no further than crafting up a nice Buttermilk Pie. It's basically the pick-up truck of holiday dinners- namely, everyone will be calling you nights and weekends for another taste of its sweet, buttery, custardy goodness.
Amazingly good warm, even better cold. Works fine without any toppings, or spray on some whipped cream and ignore the calorie counter for the day. Amazing stuff.
Oh, and easy to make. throw ingredients together, pour into a pie shell. an hour later you have an amazing pie to carpetbomb the family with.
Usually people shy away from anything with the name "buttermilk" in the name. I normally call it a 'custard pie' until delivery and they have a slice ;)
This post reminds me that it's been a while since I've made one. I think I need to rectify that problem.
