I really believe that the birds/fish/etc. who feed on mosquitoes wouldn't have that great of a problem finding a new food source, and that Earth overall wouldn't be very devastated in the long run. But of course, the effects of mosquito extinction could vary quite a bit depending on things such as the environment of the affected areas and species of mosquito eradicated. And in a way, it's also a question of "Do we let this rare fish be lost forever for the sake of human health?"
I personally would rejoice if mosquitos went mysteriously absent from the world. But the rest of the world's ecosystems might not fare so well.
