I'm really disappointed in 3D. It has the potential to be much more than just a fad, but blind profit hungry movie studios tried to exploit every last penny of the technology until the public begs them to stop. I would have compared it to color (by opposition to black and white productions) : it doesn't affect the quality of the content, but it can add a lot to the experience if used wisely and not only for its own sake.
