Dusty space object on a crash course towards a supermassive black hole mysteriously survives being ripped apart.
The dusty space object, known as G2, was on a course towards the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way from 2006 to early 2014. Its closest approach to the black hole was in May 2014 and observations in September 2014 show that the object survived being ripped apart.
