Let's imagine something else that happened in the last few days that might have influenced this decision and go with an honest presentation.
"Dear employees, We decided to end an NRA member discount program that only 13 people had ever used. This likely cost us $40 million in tax breaks from the state of Georgia.
We have to make that up somewhere, and we decided that you, as team players, don't really have any choice in the matter.
Senior management will still retain their bonuses, however, as they already have a lot of money and nice cars. This is for your benefit, really, as it improves your chances of winning from "not bloody likely", to "slightly better than not bloody likely". It's like buying TWO Powerball tickets instead of just one.
Now quit complaining and get back to work, peasants."
Wasn’t that Delta?
Still this is crazy. They say this will give employees a “sense of accomplishment”. How does winning a raffle give you a sense of accomplishment? (Assuming you have an IQ greater than 50)
Yep. As part of a tax reform bill, there was $40 million break for them (The states largest single employer (civilian, DOD may have them beat), They said "buh bye" to the NRA, the bill passed minus the tax break.
And taking away an average of $100 a month in bonus for the tiny chance at "fabulous prizes"...yeah, surprisingly unpopular.
I suspect he thinks none of his employees have an IQ higher than fifty. At the end of the day,it's more money for him anyway.
