    The meta-analysis suggests that obesity is associated with a higher risk of depression and that there might be a causal relationship between the two. The researchers propose that the rising prevalence of depression could be attributed, in part, to the increasing rates of obesity. This study was published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research.
