    I read somewhere that there's a large chance that the dominant species on an alien planet that was similar to ours would most likely have an exoskeleton (not an endoskeleton, like us) because they make more sense in terms of dealing with atmospheric pressures.

      This is actually a reasonable claim, but the question is, just how advanced IS the dominant species on that planet?
