Nokia 215 Preview
Microsoft has unveiled its latest basic phone with the Nokia label on the back, in the form of the $29 Nokia 215. The 215 will come with either a single SIM card or space for two SIM cards so you can have two numbers in one phone. Which version you get depends on where you live, as dual-SIM phones are only popular in certain markets. Every phone I've had since my Blackberry Curve has been a 'charge daily' thing. I miss the days of phones you didn't have to constantly feed- that you could rely on to survive a week without running for a plugin. Sure, they do a lot more now than they used to, but it's still nice.
Been waiting for the Onyx to be made available in the states, but haven't seen them yet. Two weeks on a charge? Awesome.
Think I'll pick one up once they're available in the States.
A simple breakout battery technology will change that. But when!!!???
Difficult to tell. While I'm sure there's plenty of evolutionary changes to batteries still to come, there's really going to be no massive change in charge or capability for a while. A lot of the problem is energy density. you can only put so much power in one spot before it begins to look and act like a bomb.
