Good old ambien-walrus used to take me on long middle-of-the-night walks. First couple of times I woke up in bed, tired, with my shoes on were very confusing.
Now when I can't sleep, I drink and surf the internet. Much safer.
You should probably reconsider this decision, since alcohol is definitely not safe at all (it also affects the continuity and quality of sleep, causing you to feel way more tired in the morning). While I agree that the side-effects of Ambien can be pretty scary at times, there are lots of alternatives (many of which don't necessarily have to be addictive like benzodiazepines, ambien or alcohol).
Have you consulted your doctor about this medication problem and evaluated the cause of your sleep disorder?
Yeah, I got a diagnosis and some better meds. I've been troubled off and on with insomnia since I was a teenager (and that was a long, long time ago). I take melatonin before bed, which helps, and I also have lunesta on hand, which I use if I have to get up the next day.
