D.C. church says a bike lane would infringe upon its constitutional ‘rights of religious freedom’
The District government is going through the rather municipally boring process of determining where to build a bike lane on the east side of downtown. And one church has given a charged response to some proposals, saying that a bike lane near its property would infringe upon “its constitutionally protected rights of religious freedom and equal protection of the laws.”

They have a good idea about their problem, that they'll lose their parking spaces and in turn probably lose parishioners. I think claiming that it's an assault on their practice and freedoms of religion is an extreme stretch of the constitution though.
I would hope for a solution, perhaps a grocery store or similar in the area that would allow them to use the back of their parking area for a small fee and a shuttle bus would work? Of course at the same time I think businesses and religious institutions should have been consulted during this idea phase.
Christians don't want freedom of religion, they want dominance and have been a curse on mankind since the Nativity.
