This is true, of course. All humans have this weakness no matter how smart or stupid they are. I would say, and I'm liberal, that left wing arrogance is no where nearly as pronounced as right wing. We don't have armed, liberal supremacist groups such as those enjoyed by the right. I was a small town, newspaper reporter, usually the only lefty in the newsroom, and twice I was advised by editors to simplify my writing so that the stupid country hicks could understand it. These were both hard right repubs.
