    Wouldn't be surprising. Engineers would likely know that VW had to be cheating and you have to "cheat to compete".

      Yep, once a precedent is made it's hard not to go down that path especially in such a competitive space. It's just too bad it resulted in so much damage. I used to really appreciate those clean diesel cars , and now I'm just disgusted by everything diesel. For those who haven't seen the netflix docu "Dirty Money", there is an episode about the VW scandal. Highly recommended watch.

        I was seriously considering a VW as my next vehicle when the news broke. Turned out "Clean diesel" was like "clean coal".

        I wound up buying an Accord.
