Where abouts is this building /u/drunkenninja? Vancouver or elsewhere? I'm thinking the key to having it finished is people moving in and utilizing the empty buildings potential. That should be all the incentive those with money need. "Oh no, can't have someone living somewhere for free, that will never do. I'm not making any money. Profits before people don't 'cha know."

(ok, that was a very biased comment on my part, not leaving any room for an open minded discussion. I will work on that)

I don't have the address on hand, the next time I drive by it ill be sure to PM you with it as it really is a sight to see. Its HUGE, and really well kept with freshly cut grass and everything, but there is nothing happening inside since like 2003 or so.

Thanks for the follow up. I guess if it has manicured lawns it also has security to keep the riff-raff away. There is a problem in Toronto with empty condos. People from over seas (trying to not say China ;) ) buy them as investment opportunities then the condos/ houses/ buildings sit empty. I hear Vancouver has the same problem. All that manages to do is raise property prices to the point only wealthy foreigners can afford to buy. Everyone else rents. Going off topic so I'll stop.

It just sucks that its been sitting around empty for 10 years... So much can be done with that space, and the multicultural value of a center like this being open would be astronomical. To me it almost seems like its a dispute between two sides, neither side wants to watch this place rot, but they are not willing to work out a deal to get this building up and online.

Edit: This comment put me at Lvl 47! Woot :)
