The problem I find with the double edged safety razors is that its actually quite easy to nick yourself if you're not paying attention. I'm usually awake for only about 10 min when I shave so I don't pay as much attention to making sure I don't slice my throat as I should. I guess I'm just used to the way the 3 blade razor glides across my skin. As for more blades, I saw this a while back, though it was amusing.

I normally shave in the evenings, so I'm usually awake enough to make it through safely. you can definitely nick the hell out of yourself if you're not giving it your full attention.
I might just move my shaving over to evenings or after my morning coffee and give it another try. Although, I have say... I'm quite satisfied with the 3 blade razor, its a nice close shave.
