The $1000 dollar smart phone idea is alive and well, and sadly, just like ridiculously over priced laptops selling without issues, I don't see this trend being anything different. There will always be that group of people that want the very best from a product line, and these phones are for them. Just look at apple and their upcoming $1000 iphone 8.
I still have my LG G4 which I hope will last a little longer. There are a lot of really good phones for half the price of the Samsung but, honestly, even half the price is the top end of what I'd pay.

I think I saw the new Samsung is $1300 here in Canada. I'm sure people will buy it but the prices are getting a little out of hand now.
No kidding...Expect the price to double with the next edition.
