    2. Showers. The feeling of stepping into a shower with hot water? A nearly unmatchable sensuously fulfilling experience. You get up early in the morning, walk outside in your bare feet, step on something sharp, curse, grab the paper, walk back into the house, start making coffee in your pot, and open the paper up completely on your table, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and start to read. It’s morning, my friend. You are at home, reading the paper and drinking coffee.

I was out camping for 2 weeks in the woods, the one thing I most appreciated after was a nice hot shower. Every time I shower now, I keep thinking about that couple of weeks of using cold as fuck water in the river, and or body wipes to keep clean.

I agree with the safe place to sleep, preferably quiet.

"You don't know what you have until it's gone"

This is a good reminder for me to be grateful for what I have. There are always those less fortunate than you.

It all made sense except for the last one:

    5. Housekeeping. Nobody loves housework. And then I didn’t have a house. And then, after a long time, I did again. The pleasure of sweeping a floor, wiping off a counter, putting dishes in the dishwasher … nearly unspeakably joyful. I make my little place clean. It is my place and I have made it clean. I feel comfortable in it now. It isn’t a pile of clothes under a stairwell or in the back of a minivan. It is a proper living space and I have cleaned it. I am a decent human being. I can barely think of anything that makes me happier than making my space clean and orderly.

    What?

I can see where hes coming from.. being stuck homeless with a shopping cart containing all of your belongings for example sucks. You cant organize your stuff, you cant keep things clean, you cant do your laundry, it really is just an extremely depressing existence. So as soon as you have your own place, and you're actually ABLE to keep things clean, and organized you really appreciate the ability of doing so.
