Endocannabinoid system acts as a regulator of immune homeostasis in the gut
Exogenous cannabinoids such as marijuana exert their influence through cannabinoid receptors. Endogenous cannabinoids such as anandamide (AEA) function through the same receptors and their physiological roles are a subject of intense study. Here, we show that AEA plays a pivotal role in maintaining immunological health in the gut. The immune system in the gut actively tolerates the foreign antigens present in the gut through mechanisms that are only partially understood. We show that AEA contrib...

If We Don't Focus On Why People Overeat, We Will Never Solve Obesity
Emotional, physical or sexual abuse can lie at the root of weight problems in later life and, unless targeted, taxes on food types will be cruel to those who self-medicate.

Causes, Characteristics, and Consequences of Metabolically Unhealthy Normal Weight in Humans
A BMI in the normal range associates with a decreased risk of cardiometabolic disease and all-cause mortality. However, not all subjects in this BMI range have this low risk. Compared to people who are of normal weight and metabolically healthy, subjects who are of normal weight but metabolically unhealthy (∼20% of the normal weight adult population) have a greater than 3-fold higher risk of all-cause mortality and/or cardiovascular events.

Unfortunately, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the organization tasked with professional (RD, RDN, NDTR) certification, has deep ties and long history of corporate influences, which of course, includes our friends Monsanto. I can't say most but a lot of funding for the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics comes not only from the food industry but also pharmaceutical/D.C. lobbying sponsorships. As professionals in this field, my colleagues and I are collectively bummed out about this. I probably shouldn't even write about the influence in policy because of the countless internet shills you mention but my sleep is untroubled.
