Breast cancer marketers and politicians have the same foundational ideology. They appeal to the part of us that wants to think we’re helping others. By playing to our emotions – the patriotic, flag-waving, pink-ribbon-wearing side – they get us amped up, and our wisdom goes out the window because our hearts are too full of pink mush. The actual issues, though, are deeper than the glib slogans and speeches.

It's sad to see how disgusting companies can be in order to make a few extra dollars. Exploiting cancer to make people think that they're helping cure it, while pocketing most of the revenue? Disgusting. I could understand them doing this if most of the proceeds (excluding a bit for overhead) went to actually doing something, but this is just sickening.
Spent a decade working in hospital administration which is a misleading way of saying I was a clerk. My experience led me to believe that the drug companies, the medical industry, the AMA and health insurance companies are worse than the Mafia, Yakuza and Triads combined preying on defenseless, desperate people. The bribery, back patting and exploitation is beyond belief.
