Microsoft Faces Real Problem if PS4 Drops to $349, Needs To Decouple Kinect From Xbox One
The Xbox One may have had a troubled history before its launch – with DRM issues, criticism of its indie development policy and so much more – but the console has slowly come in to its own since then. The removal of Don Mattrick and appointment of Microsoft Games Studios head Phil Spencer as boss of the Xbox division has indicated as much and the company is touting some major announcements for E3. But will that be enough considering the lead the PS4 has?

I think Microsoft is in a really tough spot with this one. It really isn't as simple as getting rid of the Kinect that comes with every Xbox. It's pretty well known that the reason that it's included is so that devs have more incentives to integrate the Kinect into their games. Microsoft may have to start selling their consoles at a loss in order to get back into the game with Playstation.
Isn't that what they have been doing for the better part of Xbox one's existence? Selling it at a loss?
