    Yep, but we wont be reaching the type of singularity that Kurzweil predicts, that sort of advancement is overhyped.

      What makes you so sure? If you conjured a portal to the mid 1970's and brought in someone specced in technology and showed him what we have in 2014, he would be blown away. Tech builds on tech, the speed of progression will only get more drastic.

        The world doesn't work that way. Things do change but it happens gradually, people need time to adjust to new stuff before additional things can be invented and publicly acceptable. A good example is the car industry, rarely do futuristic looking concept cars look even remotely similar when it comes to actual releases. Its a nice idea and all, but unless the general public accepts and supports a lot of these changes, they wont have a widespread effect.

          I disagree, people today are a lot more open minded compared to 100 yaers ago.
