It's never really been determined what, exactly, constitutes intelligence, and even less so 'consciousness'. So it's pretty hard to opine on whether or not computers will ever rival humans with regard to traits that are not even objectively defined. One thing is certain, though: the ten year old of 2015 is not any smarter than the 10 year old of 1975, and will likely be about as smart as the 10 year old of 2075. On the other hand, the computer of 2015 is many, many more orders of magnitude more powerful than the computer of 1975, and it is quite likely that the computer of 2075 will be vastly more capable than the computers of now. And, incidentally, 'brain' is the hardware, 'mind' is the software. That's not exactly a headscratcher.
