I enjoy watching the Establishment freak out because somebody they don't own is kicking ass. And like Chomsky has said: there's not that much of a difference between Trump and the rest of the GOP.

Obama has never not been a sellout, and hopefully, that's how he will be remembered.

The safety valve for any democratic candidate who might win the popular vote yet lose the nomination because of super delegates is simply to inform the DNC that if they don't get a fair proportion of super delegates they run as an independent. This may be necessary because, essentially, there is only one party - the establishment party - and Clinton, Bush, Cruz and Rubio are in it. The wealthy elite of the Democratic party would rather elect a Bush - who would guard their wealth and privilege - than a Sanders.

It's never really been determined what, exactly, constitutes intelligence, and even less so 'consciousness'. So it's pretty hard to opine on whether or not computers will ever rival humans with regard to traits that are not even objectively defined. One thing is certain, though: the ten year old of 2015 is not any smarter than the 10 year old of 1975, and will likely be about as smart as the 10 year old of 2075. On the other hand, the computer of 2015 is many, many more orders of magnitude more powerful than the computer of 1975, and it is quite likely that the computer of 2075 will be vastly more capable than the computers of now. And, incidentally, 'brain' is the hardware, 'mind' is the software. That's not exactly a headscratcher.

I doubt it matters. We already have another human-made creation called a 'corporation' that is demonstratively doing what it can to destroy the human race from ecological and economic vectors. I seriously doubt that computers will ever be able to match the pure destruction that is already being wreaked. The endgame is almost certainly extinction, and probably not too far in the future. Does it matter all that much which of our creations does us in?

Right now, the useless accumulation of wealth and the inevitable poverty it creates is not causing enough pain. But the trends are, if anything, accelerating, and when enough people are living without so others can have a thousand times more than they can possibly use, unless another FDR comes along the rules of the game are going to change. Or rather, they are going to go back to how they used to be -- think France in 1789, or Russia in the early 20th century, for instance.
