I am involved in eSports, and when I start to talk about it I see eyes glaze over. It IS the alpha spectator sport, people just don't know it yet. There are scholarships given at college level for athletes, 5 in the US including Ervine, and it is on the agenda to hit the Olympics. These games will be part of society, as long as there is electricity.

I've been playing video games since Pong and expect to keep playing until I depart this existence. But I don't understand eSports. Maybe it's age, or just the way I'm wired, but I get nothing out of watching someone else play a game. Give me the controller/mouse/keyboard. I want to play.

But those growing up in this electronic world do, and I get the same pushback from real physical players, its not real. But those who watch, to them it is. They get excited by the moves, they really do...and it is now part of society.
