I've been shot in combat. And as a veteran, I'm telling you: allowing teachers to be armed is an asinine idea
After the most recent school shooting, NC State Rep. Larry Pittman said he wanted to work with police to train teachers and allow them to carry weapons at school. As an Army veteran, I've been in close quarter combat and can tell you this is not the answer. It will only cause more death and destruction.

Can't arm the teachers.
Armed guards don't work if they are just there for the paycheck and are too afraid to go inside.
So obviously the only thing left is to make it harder for law abiding citizens to obtain firearms while any half-way intelligent person who wants one illegally can get it in a matter of hours (to be generous) if they have the cash.
Anyone who says "As a ____" has nothing useful to say following that. Witness: not a hint of an alternate idea offered, but boy, he sure is a hero...we should listen to what he has to say...TYFYS and all that.
I'll take even half trained adults with a weapon to shoot back to stop the rampage over letting it continue until the shooter runs out of ammo. Even if the good guys cause casualties, letting it go on will cause more. And if the bad guy knows there will be incoming fire, he might just decide it's not worth it.
Is it a great idea? No. But I've not yet heard a better one. The only thing being offered is more totally ineffective legislation
Hey, why stop at the teachers? Let's give every student a gun as soon as they enter school. Also all the employees.Nothing can go wrong with that, can it? The more people who have guns, the better!
