Bad breath and armpit odor: the arch-nemeses of mankind's entire social structure no doubt! The advertising industry may be forgiven for promoting these types of harmless, helpful, and for the most part effective health and hygiene products. But should ads encourage the use of pharmaceutical medicines? Just watching them discuss all the possible side effects is enough to discourage me. After their review of all the terrible health issues their new drug might cause, the disease sometimes seems preferable to the cure. Just what are the pros and cons of pharmaceutical advertising?
