I love all these experiments with currency. Bitcoin and now Ethereum are essentially fiat currency with no reasonable backing but a lot of the people supporting them are the goldbug types who insist that there must be something tangible for currency to mean anything. It turns out, the only thing currency needs to be viable is the faith of the people using it.
