Artificial intelligence will make religion obsolete within our lifetime
After conquering the kitchen, the game show, and outer space, are our machines heading for religion next? The singularity is a hypothesized time in the future, approximately 2045, when the capabilities of non-living electronic machines will supersede human capabilities. Undismissable contemporary thinkers like Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking, and Ray Kurzweil warn us that it will change everything.

Personally I think that the religions that are still around are the ones that have learned how to adapt and constantly interpret the world around them within the context of their holy scripture. So I think all that will happen is they will make a lot of noise while they take the time to decide how it fits into their view of the world and once they have things will settle down agai into the new religious norms. I don't think we are going to get rid of religion. If anything it would just spark the creation of new religions.
I suspect that the only way we'll see an end to religion is when we bring an end to the insecurity that drives people to it. The nations that have the least income inequality, food insecurity and general uncertainty about the future are the nations where religion has the least influence.
Will it? I have my doubts.
