Oh look. The Hill has another unnamed source "verifying" a Dem talking point. They have convinced poor people that the only reason they are poor is because other people are rich. and that they should vote for other rich people who allegedly have their best interests at heart.
According to the calculator, I'm paying $690 less. On top of a bonus and a raise.
Am I supposed to be mad that people who pay tens or hundreds of thousands a year in federal income tax paid less, or sad that the people who pay little or no federal income tax still pay nothing?
As usual, I fall between the Republicans and Democrats on this piece of legislation.
I don't believe that, as Republicans say, this is the best piece of legislation in decades and that all of our problems will be solved.
I also don't believe that, as Democrats say, this piece of legislation is going to destroy our country and kill old people and children.
At this point, I believe that both sides use old people and children as a straw man and neither side actually cares about anything but beating the other side.
Can't they let The Washington Post have just that one thing?
Considering how often these sources have proved to be outright wrong?
hereditary aristocracy
Yeah, already there.
I'd vote for Sens. Sanders and Warren. Would you?
Sanders may be going to jail with his wife. Warren, maybe.
fudging
There always is. Accounts, economists, and statisticians seem to always come up with the numbers to please the boss..
Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid
That's the bogeyman that always gets trotted out. Before the social programs "go broke", they'll be fixed. Or politicians will be hanging from lamp posts.
ritually sacrificing their children?
Absolutely not! Those little buggers need to grow up and get jobs to pay the taxes to support me in my dotage (assuming I'm not already there).

I dunno. Ending the estate tax does change the U.S. into a hereditary aristocracy, so that's exactly the case now.

This year. You might be surprised to hear there's been some fudging in the way this rolls out.
Congratulations! Hope you weren't looking forward to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid.
Yes. Like, hell's teeth mad.
Maybe you'd prefer the American peasantry pay their taxes by ritually sacrificing their children? Or do they?
