    There is no right or reasonable expectation of privacy in public places.

    People still use their smart phones, the internet and put always-on microphones in their houses (in voice activated smart devices). Check your post office, odds are there are license plate readers in the parking lot. (Look hard, they aren't easy to spot).

    It sucks, but it's the world we live in. The only way to cut back, even a little, on the surveillance state means abandoning technology.
