    I wouldn't say its as much as "too much power". I'd say its more of handling power irresponsibly. I remember when they banned /r/pcmasterrace. The fact that that place is a problem to them and not the actual hate subs just shows that they really only care about their advertisers. I forgot where I saw the comment, but somebody hit the nail on the head. They aren't doing this because they actually care. They are doing this because they want to make sure they can jump ship at any time and make a profit selling it.

      It really feels messed up how they didn't force themselves harder onto people with their advertising scheme (which would bring immediate financial benefits to them) and instead decided to go after a subreddit which is now ruining the entire website, because members from outside the community are also backing up the harassers.

      Hindsight wisdom is of no use, at this point.
