While I completely agree with you there is a lot of misinformation being disseminated. I have had "discussions" on this topic with my in-laws sadly it's pointless. Where ever it is they get their information from just has to instill reasonable doubt and now they are deniers. I imagine the denial stems from the people/corporations with money. They likely have a vested interest to ensure there is enough doubt in people to keep laws working in their favor.
