Coming from an apathetic agnostic perspective, the best argument against Atheism is to remind Atheists that the notion of Atheism(a belief that this is no God) is still, at its core a belief, and one cannot logically dis-prove the non-existence of an entity(imaginary or not) that's a philosophical construct. That's like trying to disprove the idea of a Unicorn. You can't prove a quark exists, but you can't prove they don't exist either.

You may also use this argument about militant Deists that try and argue a logical proof that God exists - since by a philosophical definition the notion of "God" requires faith, and one does not need faith when proof exists. It's the old Babelfish argument that Douglas Adams presented in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

This leads to the logical conclusion that trying to prove the non-existence of God to someone set in their ways, or vice-versa is a losing battle that only seeks to serve one's own ego - and in general make you look like an ass.

As a verified television junkie, living in what I personally believe to be the Golden Age of televised media, defined not only by the current generation of networks newfound ability to experiment, but also on the advent of "digital time-shifting" I watch a little too much.

As per shows currently on-schedule and "on-season," I'm working through HBO's "Ballers" and "True Detective," AMC's "Halt and Catch Fire," NBC's "Hannibal," USA's "Mr. Robot," Netflix's "Sense8," "Orange is the New Black," BBC Americas' "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell," and SyFy's "Dominion." Just polished off "A Game of Thrones" and "Silicon Valley."

Playing catch up on "Orphan Black" and "Turn."

New stuff in the schedule includes the new season of "Bojack Horseman," "The Brink," "Masters of Sex," "Hell on Wheels," and "Welcome to Sweden."

Goodness me, then there's the early Fall season to worry about.

I tend to look at it this way. While misinformation in general is a bad thing, and the whole phenom of "self-diagnosis"/"EPIDEMIC OF HEALTH CONDITION X" is generally a bad-thing in terms of actual health(but GREAT for marketing) - the whole gluten-free thing has done wonders to what you mentioned above.

Sadly, I suffer from an embarrassing case of IBS, and gluten-free consumables tend to off-set my discomfort quite a bit. So long as "faux health epidemics" create a new market, that actually benefits SOME people, I could not care considerably less for the hypochondriacs. After all, the placebo-effect is an actual thing with real-world benefits.

On the opposite side of things, we have blithering idiots like the anti-vaccine movement, who's "health choices" affect everyone AROUND THEM as well as themselves, which leads to an overall less-healthy general public.

Things need a little balance and consideration is all.
