Honestly, I'm ready for Reddit to just phase out. It's time to start fresh and make things better than what it was. It's not like this is going to do anything. Even is Pao resigns, Reddit still has a lot to do in order to get things cleaned up.

I agree, it's not just the head, but the whole thing is being corrupted. It's unorganized, and it's obvious that there is no real interest in improving the site, the design itself has stagnated, they could have made tons of revisions and fixes for things RES adds, but they just haven't. Not to mention the whole complaint the mods have. The only thing keeping that site running is the users submitting content right now. You get them to bail ship, the site tanks, just like Digg.

Still, I think this petition goes a long way to show how people towards reddit's management. And that can't be a bad thing, right?

I don't think we should advocate for the CEO of another site's resignation here. I think we should stay out of that whole mess but still welcome people to the site.

What is the point of this petition when pretty much everyone has already given up on reddit and has either moved here, or to Voat?

I think that this petition was started during fph-gate, and people are just signing it now. And there are still a lot of people posting on reddit about how mad they are at reddit. I don't think it's done for yet, if only because no site can accommodate the onslaught of new users. And reddit is in a lot of people's muscle memory. Open browser, go to reddit.... oh yeah... What's the name of that new thing I just joined?

I do hope this whole thing just blows over, and reddit just for once stops attacking itself. Thank God for these reddit alternatives, I actually thought I would have to join 4chan or tumblr to fill the void.

Not quite, but many people will start using multiple reddit-like sites and eventually stop using reddit.
