I work from home answering phones for an insurance company. I do pretty much anything you can call an insurance company for, from website support to new policies. Mondays are traditionally moderately busy because we're usually over staffed. Saturdays are the worst! I've been at work for 10 minutes now and I've taken one call, so it might actually be slower than normal today. A busy day is back-to-back with at least five or six people waiting in the queue, the slowest days I can do 30+ minutes without a call...
And as I was typing that, we got flooded, haha. I guess a lot of what I do is based on luck. Some calls will take 3 minutes or even less, but if someone let their insurance cancel or they want a new policy, it can take up to an hour. More if something goes wrong or they have things like a DUI or anything I have to investigate or get permission for a waive. Although most of that we just refer to a local office.
Either way, I get to work four days a week instead of five, I get paid well enough to not worry about it and I wear boxers at work. On the busy days I browse the internet between calls and on slow days I play video games or work on school stuff.

Sleep! I used to work really weird schedules and I never went to bed or woke up at the same time. I realize a lot of people are in that situation and a regular sleep schedule is impossible, but if you can, go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. I've been doing it for a few months now and life is just so much easier. I'm never tired until I'm ready to go to bed and I rarely get any kind of insomnia anymore.

Ha, that's awesome. I hardly ever remember my dreams, but when I do, I seem to remember them for a really long time. I think it is because I ruminate over them for so long or something. I commented with a couple that I had as a kid and sometimes I wonder if I really even remember them or if they've morphed and changed over the years into something completely different. They still seem so vivid, though.

I've had a few weird ones that stick out. This first one is from my childhood, not sure how I still remember it:
I'm in an old-school diving suit, something like this, but I'm not underwater. Instead I'm in some sort of cave system with little islands surrounded by lava. I'm bouncing around in this weird diving suit thing like there's no gravity and I have no idea what I'm doing there or anything. That's all I really remember, but I remember it vividly and I had this dream over two decades ago.
Another strange one from my childhood: I'm in my neighborhood and no one else is around. All of the houses are empty, but I have this weird sense of foreboding, that something is chasing me. In the dream I know it is some sort of werewolf creature, but I don't recall ever seeing it. I'm freaking out and running all over the neighborhood and eventually I go into my best friend's house and hide in a room filled with blankets and pillows. I can hear the werewolf getting closer to me and right before he opens the door, I find a trumpet of some sort in the blankets and blow it. That's all I remember, but I've always assumed the trumpet scared the werewolf away or something?
And finally, the dream from this morning that prompted this question: I was in a bar and I asked for a shot watermelon Pucker, up (that means no shaken and strained without ice). I ordered a mixer that tastes terrible, that's used to make shooters, as if it were worthy of sipping. So, so weird, especially considering I used to bartend and just can't see myself ordering this at all. I woke up right after the dream, completely baffled by it.

I got banned from a bar for my friend being black. Okay, that's not entirely accurate. There's a small bar in a hipster part of my town that caters to college kids from a nearby private university and young professionals in the area. I was with a bunch of coworkers, we all worked in another bar. One of them was a black guy from Chicago (this all happened in the deep South) and probably the only black guy to walk through the doors of that place in a while. We'll call him Newton. Anyway, none of us really thought anything of it because why would we?
We all had a habit of slapping each other on the ass, guys and girls, and my friend Newton did it to one of my female coworkers while she was flirting with some guy. The guy she was talking to got fucking irate and tried to start a fight with Newton. I was sitting at a table across the room, probably 50ft away, watching this happen. The staff separated the guys and kicked Newton out, so I was getting up to settle my tab and leave with him. Well, the bartender came over before I could and told me we all had to leave and we shouldn't ever come back. The other guy, the one who really started all the shit, got to stay. However, all of the people who came in with Newton were kicked out and banned. I still go there sometimes, though; they don't even recognize me.
