    For myself it's not the fear of spiders, it's fear of my own imagination. In my mind spiders (or anything that crawls to be honest) are gaining entry to my inner cavity somehow, most likely through an ear, then laying thousands upon thousands of eggs. Then those spiders are infesting me and disgustingly crawling out of all orifices in swarms. So yeah, not afraid of spiders at all.

      WOW! I never heard of that. Sounds like you watched way too many horror films! :D You need no worry since they only lay their eggs in a round case and hang it up somewhere in their web,. No self respecting spider would ever go in your ear. They have zero interest in you and are just as afraid of you as you are them. When you crash into their web,they spin a safety line and drop like a rock to the ground and hide. That's also how they escape bats and birds. Well,I hope that helps you feel better. I like most bugs. The ones i hate and kill on sight are house flies and cockroaches.

        @drunkenninja -

        I'm glad. Spiders are not nearly as scary as we are led to believe...In America anyway...Australia has some bad uns.

        Thank you /u/Gozzin for reassuring and calming me, you are absolutely right, I watch way too many sci-fi and horror flicks. In my mind, anything is possible. And I did not know they 'drop out of sight' to flee bats and birds, that's quite interesting. The more you know.

      Why did I read that... I should have stopped after the first sentence.
