My worst experience with hot foods has involved sauces with extracts. Actually peppers are one thing, concentrates are evil IMO, more fit for chemical warfare than as food.

Could have been an extract, the atomic wings at Quaker Steak & Lube messed me up.
Perhaps you're right. I'm going to look into the difference now that you mentioned it, didn't know "extracts" can be so brutal.
The hottest pepper is about 2.2 million Scoville but extracts can get up to 16 Billion.1
Holy shit, that can definitely wreck havoc on the gut!
