Acetaminophen is a scary drug. People don't really know the mechanism by which it relieves pain. The difference between a therapeutic dose and one that will kill you (slowly and painfully due to irreversible liver damage) is very small compared to most drugs. Since we don't know how it works, we don't really understand what else it could do. A subtle effect like the one in this post would be pretty hard to find or prove.
I agree. I do wonder what else we don't know about it that will eventually come back to haunt us.
