Yeah, I can see that point of view. I liken it to a game like the Borderlands series. You buy it, you buy the expansion DLCs or season pass. Then after a while they bundle it all up in a GOTY edition for half the price of the base game. Anybody that waited got a better deal than you did. But you got to play it all when it was shiny and new.
Will they lose some goodwill by doing this? Certainly. Looks like a cash grab.
Will a lot of people bitch about it, then buy it anyway because it looks too awesome to pass up? Pretty sure that's what they are counting on.
The expansions will likely be on sale later on, if you want to wait. Or wait until the game is finished, then buy them all for the bundled price. But then you won't get to play all the new stuff for a while.
