Snobby coffee drinker here. No fucking chance. Ever. Eww.
I'm normally a coffee with half & half drinker, but will go the butter route every once in a while when I'm feeling indulgent. Definitely worth going with Kerrygold unsalted or another decently high-quality grass-fed butter otherwise it can go south on the palate really quickly. I unwittingly did salted butter once, and can't say I would even recommend that to my enemies.
I had never heard of putting butter in coffee until I read this article. I can't decide if it sounds awesome or gross. I guess butter isn't super different from cream, and that's good in coffee. Thanks for your recommendation and the heads up about not using salted! I'll try to remember that if I ever feel like buttering up my coffee. ;)
I was skeptical at first, but found it really quite enjoyable. My in-laws make fun of me for putting butter in hot apple cider, but it is one of my favorite all-time beverages. In any case, I had something of a precedent before taking the leap with my precious cup of coffee :)
