Nudity never hurt anyone, yet people still fight against it.

If people weren't fighting against it, they'd have no market. It'd be so normal as to be unremarkable.

"Would someone think of the children?" is not an acceptable argument. Nudity should not be demonized. Hustlers in time square aggressively annoying tourists on the other hand...

How do people mean to educate their children from life if they continually hide it from them?

Now that's a Times Square I remember. I knew Disney couldn't drive away the sleaze forever!

I'm with you. I remember the square from the early '70s with misty nostalgia.

If you're annoyed by it, don't tip them. If enough people don't tip them and they can't afford to pay rent, then they'll stop doing it. But if enough people are encouraging them by tipping them, then it's something that is becoming more socially acceptable. For me, I'd just walk by without giving it any real thought, I'd be more apt to contribute to the tip jar of a musician than scantly clad ladies/gentlemen.

Public nudity in New York is legal as long as it’s part of a performance, exhibition or show, despite the objection of NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton.

Actually, women can be topless in public in NY.
