My bad. It's weird, I read it before I posted, then took a look at the link and It was firewalled. And thanks for the save.
I think I mentioned this here before, but I predicted Trump would win the election in 2016 and won some bets I made with people who told me I was crazy. The 2016 election looked almost exactly the same as the Venezuelan election of 1998 when Chavez won. and the behavior of Trump followers, as well as Trump himself, is eerily similar to that of Chavistas. I really hope I don’t have to move countries again, but it’s not looking great right now.
Right there with you. When you said Clinton couldn't beat Trump, most thought you were supporting that fool. While that was never what you meant, that's all they could understand. So you can take some comfort knowing that a lot of what looks like support for Trump right now — and what's put you off democracy altogether — is people opting for the less effective of the evils on offer. One ignores that at their peril.
Edit: And I say that as someone that doesn't think the U.S. Civil War ended in 1865.
