There's no limit to how much money can be thrown at buying U.S. politics under the Roberts Court. This idea copes with that; rejecting the idea out-of-hand doesnât.
My problem isn't that I don't like the idea. I'm a huge fan of Act Blue. My problem is that in an arms race between corporate interests and crowdfunding, I have more confidence in the ability of corporate interests to outspend everyone else. If we were to set up a campaign finance program where money donated was doled out evenly or simply returned to limiting the amount of money a single person or organization could donate, I think we'd see much better results.
